tire/wheel fitment questions

hey guys.. i have a question about wheel / tire fitment. figured i would ask here even though i havent posted here in a while

i just bought a set of cup wheels for my 88 944S
6x16 front and 8x16 rear (52mm offset)
question is
1. will they fit without spacers?
i think the answer is yes, just fine, since the offset is the same, etc

2. what kind of tires should i put on these?
this is where im confused. should i go with 205 / 225 front/rear or what? and i want the sidewall to be tall enough to fill out the wheel-well like my old 15" phone dial 215/60s did.

thanks

They are late model like your car, so they ought to fit, you can measure the backspacing to make sure. 205-55 on the six inch & 225-50 or 245-45 on the 8 inch.

They will fit without spacers, although you may feel compelled to space the front wheels out. The stock wheels were 7" wide in the front and the same offset, effectively moving your 6" wide wheels inboard by 1/2".
