I need yet more help here!!!! I've just checked through the Gasket sets for the engine (84 944), and found one ring I dont recognise. It's the same size as the black rubber mounting for the oil cooler, but made of white nylon. Can anyone advise where it is supposed to be fitted?

I believe it fits over the oil cooler boss (away from the engine).....that sounds like what I had in my oil cooler set -- I think its a retro-fit...i.e. it wasnt there originally. I assumed this (1) because it was a perfect fit & (2) there was obvious interference between the cooler & housing at this point. Can anyone verify this?
If this is true, its not really a gasket, but a shim or "bushing" [This message has been edited by Weldin (edited 04-19-2001).] |

Hey guys, I'm getting my oil cooler kit next week, and need some heads up ....
1. did you remove the exhaust manifold? 2. did you remove the power steering pump? 3. did you have to drain both coolant and oil, or just coolant 4. if you had oil in your coolant system, how did you flush it out and clean the expansion tank (mine has white crud all over the walls)? Thanks ... E ------------------ Lock Stock '84 944 and two smokin' tires ... |
