The 944 I just bought...
I've been a Board Lurker for a year or more and have really enjoyed a lot of the insight I've seen. Many knowledgable folks here.
I put the 944 on my mental "list of cars I'll own one day" many years ago and just had this one fall into my lap so to speak. Been looking forward to this for a long time... It has roughly 50K miles and is (unfortuantely) an automatic. The AC was just gone through and aside from the very rough paint, I think it's pretty sound. I've known the current owner for several years now and was pretty surprised when he decided to sell this one. Here are some pics: I wonder what it would look like in the 917 "Gulf Blue and Orange" paint scheme?

Hey Brazzos welcome to the board.
What year is it, 86? Yeah, that Texas sun can sure kill paint. How's the dash? Or should I even have asked?

That nice looking air dam convinces me that you do have a low mile 944. It's a shame that the previous owner didn't believe in covered parking/car cover/wax. Both of my cars need paint as well. That's Texas for ya.
Have fun.

Looks like a repaint after an engine fire.

It's an '87 model.
I was surprised that only the Paint is toast due to the heat and not anything else. The interior is faded but in fairly decent shape. The back seat is burnt naturally.... The engine has the common "Galveston" discoloration and residue...

It does look like he let it get a little dry. You should be able to get those seats back to life with some conditioner. Just don't put it on while they're hot from the sun. The seat bolsters look pretty good. You're missing the lid to the center console/arm rest. I'd check the used parts guys like Oklahoma Foreign or Parts Haven. It doesn't look too bad at all, paint work aside.

Console lid is removed and sitting in the package deck area along with a spare timing belt and package deck cover.
I have a pic but I think I've abused any dial up people here long enough....hehe. I plan on removing all the seats and restitch the bad spots. Only a few that I can see. One being in the corner of the drivers seat in an above picture. Going to try and refresh this interior and get it out of the faded and abused category. New Carpet...refreshed upholstery...windown tint and a car Cover ought to go a long way here. Then paint...

Hey Sid,
I'm finishing up a summer intership in San Antonio this week. Then I'm back to A&M to start my 2nd senor year. Texas World Speedway has some great PCA racing monthly. If you haven't checked it out, it's worth a trip.

I just talked to The Boss last night about attending next month's rally with the Ferarri club. That might be kind of cool, but it's another on-call weekend for me, so I may have to juggle my schedule a bit. Y'know, gotta get out there and represent for us waterboys.
