Talking Test drove a 924 today.

Yep I am thinking of buying a 924. I am totally satisfied with my 944, but i want a 924 too, thier cheap. well i started the car up and it sounded good, then the idle started to drop a little, the it stalled, and continued to do so. I started it again and gave it gas and the engine sounded great, the tranny was good too. Drove it off and it had decent power and had no trouble threw the gears.. i drove it back and it stayed running strong this time. I turned it off, started it again, and it stayed running again. It is a 1982 so maybe it was just that reason. What do you think? he is selling it somewhat cheap, is it fixable. Forgot to add that the paint is like new metalic brown, the interoir is immaculate. The reason for all of this is that the owner was literally deaf and dumb, (he was a little slow and is hearing impaired), so they told me he took great car of it. they want 1700 for it. is it worth it and whats up with the begginning stall

Wink

Give me the name & address--I'll get it from
your description...I'll check it out for you
and advise you what to do. I certainly don't
want you to get a "lemon". (p.s. $1,700 isn't
bad). Best of luck. (I'm envious).

I love my little Pocket Rocket-80 924 FI Amped to the max- I bought it from someone didn't want a cracked block- 42K. 95% interior, 90% body (winter garage)- Put $5K in it and would gladly do it again for $1700 investment in this little curve critter. The long mountain curves here in Wyoming are designed for this car- I consider it the best handler in these mountain passes- The Vettes and BMers and Z ricers slide out on the mountain passes- They all try, but the amped Rocket does it all. Buy it for the fun of tweeking a money pit of pleasure!
