clutch release lever shaft
 

Anyone have an easy way to get the F%!#ing clutch release lever shaft out of the *%#*?$#ingbellhousing?????? :mad
Everything else came out way too easy!

I did this a couple of weeks ago so my memory is fresh.

The clutch slave cylinder bolts are the right size but you should get a spare bolt.

Screw it into the end of the shaft through an 8mm box wrench. Remove the lock bolt from the belhousing ( the small bolt an inch or so up the housing from the end of the shaft).

Keep turning the bolt after it is fully screwed in. You are trying to turn the shaft at this point. Keep turning while pulling down on the boz wrench. The shaft will gradually screw out. This will damage the threads on the bolt but probably not enough to stop you from reusing it.

Clean or replace the bearings on the release fork when you get that far. Clean and grease the shaft before you reinstall it and it will slide in with no effort at all.

Sounds like an idea, i'll give it a try today.

Ok I give up!:mad: :mad: Ive tried everything, I cant get the shaft out of the bell housing, ( I even broke my finger trying to get it out, spent Saturday in the emergency room).

Did you get the shaft to turn with the bolt? It took me a lot of turning with a steady pull down to get it to move.

Maybe if you could attach a slide hammer to the shaft.

Maybe dowsing the fork and the shaft with WD40 would help (the needle bearings in my release fork seemed frozen solid until I got some WD40 on them, but that was after I got it out). I would try using the little tube to try to get it to the top of the shaft rather than spraying blindly into the bellhousing.

The only time brute force worked better than patience was when I pulled the pilot bearing.

Finally got it out!!! Took the slide hammer to do it, but after about 20 whacks it moved.
Only prob left is one speed sensor bolt .Stripped the allen head on it. Everything else was a breeze
