Question on front spring spacers
I'm installing new Weltmiester proportional springs in a set 944 turbo strut towers. They are much shorter than the stock springs. Do I need the spring spacers that I see listed in Windward and Perf Prods to make the car sits at the right height? I really didn't want to lower it much from stock (maybe an inch or so). Thanks

If the springs are meant to lower the car, why would you need spacers?
Lowering springs are usually have a stiffer rate, so the difference in the free-length of the old and new ones is irrelevant. Of course, you could always read the instructions. |
Ah Ha, Instructions! Well unfortunately the spring were an Ebay purchase so I count myself lucky they fit at all, but alas no instructions. Fortunately I think it should all work out. Once I finish painting the rest of the strut mounts I'll put them all together and measure it next to the originals. Thanks

Well, I put the 220 lb H&R springs (the mag says weltmeister) from Perf. Prods onto the front of my car and when I was ordering these, the guy on the phone told me that you should order the spacers if you want your car to sit stock height. He also told me that my springs weren't going ot lower my car which was a lie. I don't mind, it only dropped like 3/4 of and inch but I would suggest getting the spacers. Just my 2 cents....
