Question Sealing Vacuum tubes ???

Hey Guys, I just got the replacemet vacuum tubes and Y-connector to replace the ones I broke in my car, my question is: what do you use to seal the tube/connector junction? I have some silicone grease that is for 'vacuum sealing' ... but that seems to budge under heat, so should I use an 'all purpose sealant' that I have in the trunk? or would that hurt the rubber in the long run?

thanks.

I don't use anything to seal the vacuum lines if they are small. On large vacuum lines like what goes to the brake booster I'll use hose clamps.
