Angry any experience with ***********

I had the winning bid for a power steering rack on ebay. They confirmed this by email with the total price $179.44+$28.00 shipping for a total of $207.44,admittedly a good price. Two days later greg treadway informs me that he can not possibly sell this item for that amount, if I would send an additional $370.00 he would be happy to ship it. Are these guys crooks or what?

was there a reserve price set? if so then they can do that. if not, then you can refuse the auction and report them to ebay.

good luck!

Automobile Atlanta is an absolute ripoff artist - stay as far away from them as you can

Talking

My personal favorite was when they auctioned off a "30 minute conversation with the Porsche Doctor, George Hussey" about two months ago. You gotta love it.

We would run out of room if I ranted about what worthless, rip-off artists Automobile Atlanta and George Hussy are.

Automobile Atlanta is the evil version of Pelican Parts. Tom and Wayne do it right.

I aggree. Auto Atlanta is trouble. I have delt with them on a few occasions and only one time without problems. It's kind of strange that the one time that I didn't have a problem was when I bought my 924 turbo front vented nose panel. I payed $285 for a new oem part! It's strange because they are usually the highest price for everything. There is a guy that works for the Coka Cola company in Atlanta that I deal with here at work, that is active in the Atlanta chapter of PCA. He told me that George Hussy wanted to set up a stand at their club activities to sell parts but didn't want to pay for the space, like everyone else does. He said that George made a big stink about it but the club stood solid, so there isn't an Auto Atlanta booth at there meets. It amazes me that so many people still buy from them when there are many excepitional other sources.

I used to live near Automobile Atlanta, and there shop always looked nice from the outside, but have you ever seen what they have to sell?? If its not a full car, its a pile of crap body shell, for the price of the whole car from any other source. And even their full used cars are RIDICULOUSLY PRICED!!!! Plus , they really wanna only sell 914 stuff, just check there website, tons of 914 shells lying around in the back.

Stay away from them, looks can be deceiving!

Report them to e-bay. You are not the only person to be refused an item after a clear winning bid and then to be told that for $... more, you can have the part. It is WAY against the e-bay rules to do this.

"nice"!!?? If it were a few hundred miles out of town maybe. First time I saw AA I thought there should be a guy sitting on the porch next door playing a banjo. Most of the cars lined up behind the barbed wire (facing the street) looked like they belonged at PAP auto salvage.

Wink

No Obin, it was a no reserve auction.
So far I've filed fraud charges at ebay, a charge back at paypal, and a complaint with the Atlanta BBB. Am I missing anything?

Try this site: used power steering racks for $175.00. I never delt with these people. I just came across the site and I remembered this post.

Unhappy

Steve, got a response, not a very good one.
He has one that he's about to take off a car, but he wants $230 for it with 90,000 miles on it. Heck I can get a rebuilt one with warranty from Zims for $265. The search goes on.
