DOT3... right?
according to the haynes manual DOT 3 or 4 is safe in our cars (in the clutch cylinder replacement section it specifies DOT 3). i was reading on clarks garage they say DOT 3 is NOT ok, only DOT 4.
whos right?

Yeh, I've heard that dot 4 is the recommended upgrade...
Don't mix 'um right?

dot 3 and 4 are both ok, I dont think there is a problem with mixing,
you cant use or mix dot 5, but you can use dot5.1 if your unsure, flush it out and use dot 4, dot 4 is a slighlty differnet spec. (I think) i use dot 4 in my s2 with no probs ade

I use dot 4,you can mix dot 3 and 4,but not dot5,I read somewhere that you shouldnt use dot 5,but I can't remember where.

Clark said DOT 3 is ok, just a mess up. he also told me that it has a lower boiling point. so i guess DOT 4 is just preferable for track cars
