Damn gas cap door...
i broke my gas cap door off on accident the other day... i had just finished filling my car, then i always like to turn the nozzle upside down to get my money's worth and get all of those last drops... and i turned it the wrong way, snapping that puny plastic gas door.
i was thinking i could put some kind of aftermarket gas door on there, similar to what you find on the new eclipses, i think, you know, the kind that look like they're riveted on the outer rim, and then the door is connected to that rim. only problem is... the gas door "hole" is not perfectly flat, therefore i would not be able to flush mount one of those aftermarket gas doors onto my car without doing some bending of the new door. anything i can put there other than another plastic pos gas door, that i will now also have to get painted?

I did the same years ago.... at a car wash. High pressure blast of water and it went flying.
 I picked one up used for $20 bucks...

Try 20th Street Auto parts. They always have lots of used Porsche parts, and parts cars. I have had great luck in the past with them. They are located in Phoenix AZ.

He is correct... I thought it was metal as well.....
All years fit.... but they use a different hinge that can be modified somewhat...

I wonder if the earlies are metal..........Wish I could run out and check mine right now.. What color is your car ds...I know of a black one in the pick and pull yard.
