Post rock protectors

Has anyone replaced those 3M rock-chip strips on the fenderlips? Do you use soapy water to position them and get the bubbles out? I know that Excellence did an article on this, but I loaned that issue to a friend. Thanks in advance if you can help!

I was actually able to clean mine up! There's a product called "Ultra Finish." It's a non-abrasive compound/waxing agent. It's purpose is to restore shine by removing a layer of oxidized paint. But it also works on stone guards! Here's a couple of before and after pictures:
Here's the stone guard after washing it thoroughly with soap and water and scrubbing it real good:

Here's the same stone guard after using Ultra Finish:

Ultra Finish is available at the better auto parts stores. It's expensive, but worth it.

What, drive my car, and risk getting tar on my stone guards?!?!

The discs are nice and shiny...all it took was a quick drive around town after washing it! They do look quite disgusting in the picture...

Thanks, you guys. That "miracle product" cleaned them up super-nice! But mine are brittle and have cracked, so I've got to replace them completely. So 10:1 water:alchohol it is. Thanks a lot! Now where'd I put my heat gun?
