Has anyone replaced those 3M rock-chip strips on the fenderlips? Do you use soapy water to position them and get the bubbles out? I know that Excellence did an article on this, but I loaned that issue to a friend. Thanks in advance if you can help!

I was actually able to clean mine up! There's a product called "Ultra Finish." It's a non-abrasive compound/waxing agent. It's purpose is to restore shine by removing a layer of oxidized paint. But it also works on stone guards! Here's a couple of before and after pictures:
Here's the stone guard after washing it thoroughly with soap and water and scrubbing it real good: Here's the same stone guard after using Ultra Finish: Ultra Finish is available at the better auto parts stores. It's expensive, but worth it. ------------------ My toy: http://www.pelicanparts.com/gallery/Z-man |

The discs are nice and shiny...all it took was a quick drive around town after washing it! They do look quite disgusting in the picture... -Z. ------------------ My toy: http://www.pelicanparts.com/gallery/Z-man |

Thanks, you guys. That "miracle product" cleaned them up super-nice! But mine are brittle and have cracked, so I've got to replace them completely. So 10:1 water:alchohol it is. Thanks a lot! Now where'd I put my heat gun?
