Post 87 Turbo 944- value??-thanks

I am presently owned by an 85 911 carrera, that is an everyday driver and sees the track about twice a month. I am starting to look for something else to take to the track- this car is cosmetically too nice to push close to the edge on the track.
A local pca member is selling an 87 turbo944. 125000 miles. Top end rebuilt 2-3yrs ago. New clutch in the last 700 miles- to the tune of $1700. Adjustable Koni's, autothority chip. The car seems to be sound, but I haven't had a PPI done yet.
Paint job is bad- painted by "econo paint" 4-5 years ago-looks pretty bad (but not too bad for the track) Interior is tired, seams on the seats have split, and show several repair attempts. Dash has a small split.
I see Bruce Anderson puts this in the $6500-7000 range for poor to good. This car is cosmetically a beater. Assuming it passes PPI, is that really a reasonable price for these cars?
Thanks

i would try to get him to go to around 5K for it. 125,000 IS alot. how is the tranny holding up?

its also not a good idea to get a car that has been auto-x'ed before because you dont know how well everything in the tranny and suspension is gonna hold up. I would pass on it and wait for something else to come along.
