Post 930S Steering wheel PN update

Some of the board members have expressed interest in locating a 930S steering wheel and doing the mod shown in a past issue of Excellence. This months issue lists the P.N. that had been omitted from the original published article.

The P.N. is 968.347.084.00
color codes are 7JX(blue), 7LD(burgundy), BYR(black)

The updated copy then goes on to mention that the crest will likely be embossed instead of metal.

If you still want one with the metal crest, the 911 P.N. is 000.043.161.00

Isn't this the wheel used in the non airbag 968 Club sport? If so the cost is also a little higher than the 300 or so $ listed in the article, it's more like 400, last i heard.

I would also like to know costs. And do the wheels look the same other than the crest part. Just that in one the crest is metal and in the ohter its not?

I'd like to bring this steering wheel issue to the front again today in hopes of staring some more debate on this replacement steering wheel. Any takers??

That's how it looks in my car, however I just returned it today (and looking at my receipt, including shipping I paid $361.00 from AJ-USA). I'll be replacing it with an original 968 CS steering wheel from the Porsche dealer, as that should have the outline of the emblem stamped on, instead of an actual emblem on the wheel (which I think looks a bit more understated, and elegant).

1.2gees,
That is a lot of money for a wheel. I like the 930S wheel, but for that much cash, I will get a Momo off of e-bay. What is the 968 wheel going to cost from a dealer ? Did you investigate any alternate sources ?

Granted... that wheel looks great. I like the one that ahmet has more than the one in the link. I like the actual emblem on it but thats way too much $$. As i have found out today i can get 3 quality 10" subs for the money.

You won't get the wheel for much cheaper than $~340+ including shipping...

IMO it's the ultimate wheel to have, but yes it does cost a lot. Dealer price is supposed to be around $400 with the hub, but they may lower their prices (as AJ-USA lists it higher too).

I'm getting rid of mine to switch to this (as posted above):
