Some Minor Problems
Recently I've had some strange minor problems with my car. First the interior light on the roof stoped shutting off when the doors were closed, it used to be on when you open the door then off when you close it, but now it just stays on, so I've had to turn it off. Next, the windshield wipers...first of all they dont return to normal position if I turn them off, sometimes they just stop in the middle and I have to time it right to get the back in position. Then sometimes when I flip the lever to turn on the brights the wipers diciede to start. Last of all the wiperwasher system stopped working, it sounds like it is trying to pump water, but nothing comes out, the lines seems clear, not sure what it could be.
Anything you know about these problems would be helpful. I 'm happy enough that these minor inconvieneces are the only thing wrong with the car at this time! http://www.pelicanparts.com/support/smileys/sunny.gif |
I have the washer problem too. It doesn't pump out any water. When i filled it the first day it pumped fine, then suddenly stopped. My res. has duct tape over it so i'm guessing it leaks somewher, because there is no longer any fluid in the res. i hope its just that but i have no idea where to get a new res, dont wanna bother with this one, its got a huge hole at the top and i'm guessing something at the bottom too.

Your steering column switches are probably shot.
They are not incredibly expensive to replace - but it will involve removing the steering wheel to get at them (remove the steering wheel with a 24mm socket) You can order a new washer resivoir from any of the parts places online - or, if all you have is a small crack, you can patch it with JB Weld or something similar.
