HOLY SH_T! is he alive? It doesn't look like there's much of anything left of the car, but it's hard to tell on that video.

He survived but they had to cut off both his legs.

Actually, both of his legs were amputated in the crash. His pelvis is also fractured. It is a shame, because he was actually considering retiring at the end of this season. He also is probably unaware that he has lost his legs, as he has been unconcious since the accident.
