I recommend Precision Imports in Manchester. Years ago one of his guys missed something on my car and he bent over backwards to correct it. (We became friends after that.)
Dick and his crew know Porsches (and Ferrari's and Mercedes and...etc). -Chris

Out here in the boston area, there's a great shop in Stow, Porsche only. They charge about $85 an hour, if you go to craigslist.com he has them listed.
I had them fix my ABS system, and even though it was my first mechanic experience ever, with any car, I was quite satisfied with the quality of the work. Plus the work on a LOT of 944s, there must have been 10 there last time.

I've used Randolph Racing in Stoughton, MA (20 miles south of Boston). Did an excellent job on a 968 engine swap. The owner, Kevin, charged only $60/hour. I think he makes up for it by charging list price for parts -- but then I think most shops do.

There is a shop in Haverhill MA. Right off the highway 495 at ward hill. Automotive research. Bob MacAvoy is the owner. He has my absolute faith. He has never done me wrong in the 15 years I have known him. He works on Porsche, Ferrari, Lambo, BMW, Jag, ... basically all Euro cars.
