Post Looking for a 924/944

I'm looking for a 924 or 944 to replace my 912, which is no longer with me. I'm looking for one in the $1000-2000 price range. The car needs to be in good mechanical condition and runs. If anyone knows of one or has one, email me. Thanks

You'll be hard pressed to find a 924/944 in good mechanical condition for the price you state. In my wanderings, I have found the typically you'll need about $5k for starters.

You may get a running 924/944 for under $5k, but expect to put a lot of $$ into it.

Just my opinion.

Hmmmmm. I have a 1980 924 with FI. The wheels are spiderweb 5 nut 16" with 4 wheel aerated disc. I see in the Haynes manual for the car, it lists a sport package( M541?) consisting of these and other engine mods we discovered while total OH the engine (block out)to blueprint. No blue print would match all the variations found on the Little Pocked Rocket! Hmmmmmm. I just told the mechanic to bore it to max piston size and performance the engine, special order high lift cams, bearings, seals etc. We used header extractors, plated glass pack, new flow CAT, and Pro street 2 ig with mag coil. Ported and polished the tops and use KN on intake. Rolls on new Pirelli HPs.Also, believe it or not, I put one of those little "Tornado" dealies in the intake and actually noticed a difference in acceleration. Hmmmm. I use only trained technicians on the little Rocket these days since moving to Ca. They lovingly care for my little rocket here in the Sierra (Rancho Seco)foothills where the driving on the windy river canyons is bliss. Moving from Wyomong to N. Ca was for the car, my WIF says
