Post Check out my homepage

I spent a good portion of my day making a website, and it has a vast amount of 944 related stuff in it. Check out the links section under cars...there is a ton of stuff in there...it is basically my entire favorites folder for cars. There are also a few select pictures under the cars-pictures section that I thought were worthy of my page. There is also a bunch of enteraining pictures, links, and other stuffs scattered about my page. Check it out, and let me know what you think (how I can improve it, whats missing, etc.).

If you want me to add your homepage to my links section or you think there is a link missing that has some merit, email me richietommy@hotmail.com or post in this thread and let me know what I should put on there. Also, if you have any good pictures, 944 related or not, send it to me in an email or post it in this thread and I will put them up there (if I don't run out of space...pushing close to the 10 megs that @home gives me). The link is in my signiture, but here is another link to it: my homepage

TIA

argh! I ran out of space while I was uploading it. Let me delete some worthless pictures and try it again.

Stupid f'n frontpage! Well...I got it up there, but I created it using a theme so I didn't have to edit the color scheme for each individual page. Frontpage kept crapping out every time I tried to publish it, so I used cute FTP to upload it, and it didn't upload the theme, so it went with the default web-browser color scheme, which I think is ugly. Does anybody know what directory to upload the theme into so my page will look the way I want it to look? Otherwise, everything is up there, just the colors are all boring. Still...check it out.

ribs,

Kick-ass site. The pics in your "cool stuff" section cracked me up (especially the fat kid chowing down). The girl in the swimming pool shot is too good looking. One suggestion--on your home page--you should add some caption to your photo, the flash from the digital camera looks like you are holding something like the "orb of power" or something along those lines--something funny. Nice job.

Ribs,

FrontPage themes will only work if the host has FrontPage extensions on the server. Since the URL starts with frontpage. I'm guessing that is set...but you have to make sure they are enabled. When connecting to the server, look for a bunch of directories like _vti_bin, _vti_conf, and vti_pvt. These are the folders where the FP extensions are stored, so if they are not there themes aren't going to work.

Also, themes and other FP components won't work unless you use the 'Publish' command from the program; uploading via FTP doesn't put everything in the right place.

As for the site...I like the personal story about your car. Nice stuff that you certainly won't find on anyone else's 944 page! I had to laugh when I read about your earlier problem with 4-cylinder cars, because I didn't even know what a cylinder was until after I started driving.

Still jealous of your ride-

- Leigh

Thanks for the help...I went through all of the pages (11 of them, I think) and set the color scheme by hand and removed all references to cascading style sheets from the HTML. I think the first time I made the page (a couple of days ago...I did a real lame job, too) and I went to go put on my new page, I deleted EVERYTHING from my web space, including the front page extentions. Oh well...I figure I am better off without them anyways.

Thanks for the kind words everybody...yes eric, maybe I should put up some kind of caption or something. I am glad you liked the cats rollins...I just think it is sad and funny when people let their house cats exceed the 50 pound mark (my friend has a cat that I can barely lift up with 1 hand...it must weigh close to fifty pounds...really ugly one, too), so when ever I find especially zany examples of felines on the internet, I usually save them to my hard drive for later use. Don't worry matt...I will leave pan in his cage...for now.

I'm glad you all enjoyed it. I am about to box with one of my roommates...he is a prissy little *****. FuChK him. He freaked out about the most trivial thing. I am about to go upstairs, kick his door in, and stick my foot so far up his ass that he knows what new balance taste like from the inside.

Cats...I always come across pictures of either severely obese cats or crazy ass ones (the one tiger sized pussy,

probably is fake, but entertaining none the less), but rarely see any cool dogs...weird, huh? Anyways, yes dave, you did make the hall of automotive shame, and you are the only person on my car page. I was able to shrink a lot of my pictures by lowering the quality of them (99 out of 100 wouldn't notice), so I have more space for pictures if any of you (I already have alex's car going up there...anybody else?) want your picture or link up there, let me know. I am long overdue for bed.
