Hey guys my brother is having a transmission problem with his 190E and here is what he said
"On my 1990 190E 2.6L Mercedes, I experienced lack of shifting so the engine was reving at high RPM's. Sometimes it would shift sometimes it wouldn't. I would have to put it in neutral and back in drive for it to shift sometimes. A mechanic said I have an internal leak in my automatic transmission. He said he took off the oil pan and was to determine that. After putting some Lucas stop leak in the trans. the car drove for about a month without problems. Now, the car won't shift past 2nd gear. The fluid is leaking heavily from the bottom. After trying to put 3 new qrts. in, it all drained out the bottom. Does it need to be rebuilt or should someone else look at it? ------------------ 85.5 Porsche 944 |

Sounds like you might just need to seal it up! Get it so it will hold fluid first, then see if it clears up....an auto trans will start to slip even if its "only" a quart low....replace the pan gasket, top it off, and see if that fixes it.....
