Replacing Complete Tie Rods -- Advice?

I have two new complete tie rods. I am getting a puller tomorrow and will start the job.

After searching the forum, I am wondering if anybody else has experience with removing/installing both the inner and outer tie rods. The Haynes book gives a description of the outer tie rod, but nothing on the inner.

Thanks.

The inner part of the tie rod is actually easier to remove because all the treads are inside the rubber boots. You just push back the rubber boot and use the 2 appropriate sized wrenches to undo them. You may want to mark the threads with a marker before you take them apart so you have an idea of how far to thread the new ones on.

It would be a good idea to get an alignment after you are done.

Keep in mind that there's a possibility the old assemblies were previously installed using glue on the threads.

In that case you're going to need to heat the lugs up with a torch to melt the glue or you won't be able to get them out.

Just giving you a heads up in case you find yourself in the same situation I did!
