944 A-arms on 924S
Will the A-arms from a 944 fit onto a 924S? Just to make sure I understand this, the 944 arms are forged aluminum while the 924S are stamped steel. Are the antisway bar brackets the same on a 944 as they are on a 951?

I believe the a arms are aluminum AFTER 85.5 on the 944. I don't know about interchange, but I'm curious as well.

EARLY 944 a-arms are stamped steel- replaceable ball joints.
Late 844 have cast aluminum a-arms. You have to drill the ball joints out and rivet or bolt new ones in. I was under the impression due to the brakes setup (early offset on the 924S)- but late offset wheels- that they are not interchangeable. someone prove me incorrect.

Yes you can use the aluminum a-arms. Costs almost $200 each to have them rebuilt; bushings and ball joints. Cost's about $40 each to rebuild the steel arms. I'm keeping my steel arms. I do have a set of aluminum a-arms that need rebuilt if anyone is interested. Also have the trailing arms.
The later off set is in the spindle/strut not the a-arms. You do not drill out aluminum a-arms to replace the ball joint and it's bushings. You have to scrape a bit of filled epoxy out of the back and take out the snap ring that holds the retaining plate in. It all falls out the bottom.

I also understand that the aluminum a-arms are longer which is why late strut housings have an angled top bushing. the spindles sit on the ball joint thats in the a-arm, and the struts bolt to the back of the spindle. (sounds like the leg bone's connected to the knee bone song)
