electrical problem
Im having an electrical problem which i think is a short. How do i go about trying to locate the short?
|
I've had some luck putting 220 VAC through it. If you can't find it by the smoke the fire will char the paint so you can find it.
|
lol thast one way to find it.

Usually if you ignore it long enough, the smoke and flame will point to a closer diagnosis.
OK, we've all had our fun. You got the answer to the question you asked. Now ask a better question, and you'll get a better answer. (meaning give us something to work with).... |
all i know is that im having a host of problems with the electrical. the battery power jumps from like 12v to 14 at will and when i press the accelerator, it goes as high as 16. im not really sure of anything else.

Now that's a better description.
Need to clean the grounds between the engine and the chassis and the battery. Then pull the gauges and clean the ground wires that you find behind them. Should be a large group of them attached to the inside of the fire wall toward the bottom of the fuse box. I would also have the alternator checked. Could have fried the regulator inside and it's putting out max current/voltage. Not good for the electronics. |
