944S fuel pump and fuse

Hi,
I know there are no "stupid" questions, so here goes.
I have a 1987 944S (not a 944).
In the Haynes manual they basically refer to a standard 944. They talk about a fuse for the fuel pump that is on an auxilary fuse panel under the drivers side dash. Mine is NOT that way. Can anyone tell me where this fuse is on an 87 994S. It is NOT under the hood either.
Also, where is the electric fuel pump located? I crawled under the back of the car and could see the fuel filter (canister) near the gas tank but didn't "see" the fuel pump.
Please let me know where to look for the fuel pump.
Remember this is for a 1987 944S (not a 944)
Thanks in advance!
Dingo

You do have a fuse for the fuel pump - I think it is fuse number 34 in the fuse box under the hood. You hale have a fuse pump relay (think it is G15) The relay should say "DME Relais" on the tip.

Your fuel pump is under the fuel tank - look at the back side of the tank - you will see there is a small access panel held in with two screws - that is where the fuel pump is located.

on my '84 the fuse and relay panel is under the drivers side of the instrument cluster, down low on the left

On the '90 S2 its in the engine compartment in front of the driver near the windshield, it's a plastic cover that must be removed to gain access to the fuses, etc.

Thanks to all that answered.
I will get the relay checked and also the fuel pump. The fuse #34 is OK.
Thanks again.
