HELP !!!!!....please

I have just finished putting the motor back together and I have one connectior I cannot find a home for . I have been crawling around under the car for an hour and i cannot find where this simple plug went.. It is on a 87 944 n/a and it is at the end of the harness after the oil level sender. looks like it would be for a level sendoe or something. If so what is it near in location.....heres a pic.http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1081425197.jpg

Heres how the motor has come out so far...what do you think. block, head and cam tower are all done in black. all the hardewar is stainless steel...the car coes to the body shop today for a fresh coat of paint.........finally. I can't wait.http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1081425342.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1081425381.jpg

Oil level sender is on the passenger side of the car, right next to the oil drain plig.

Is there a fresh air box for that cone air filter, or does it pull straight from the engine compartment?

I'd start by getting that tire on the right way first.

I looked at the oil pan near the drain plug..did not see it, is it in a different location on a later motor. Mine is an 87 n/a

So did you put an earlier engine in the car, or use an early-type oil pan? If so, you will not have the sensor.

Prior owner may have..i could swear that it was plugged into something before i pulled it apart ??? could be wrpng though. do the earlier ones not have the oil level sensor? i have only worked on later 944.

Who polished your intake??..... DO you know where I can get one like that??

s928s 04-09-2004 04:45 AM

I got the intake off of "e-bay". $45.00 not bad. I do have the one I tolk off that needs to be polished if interested if you want it ( you pay shipping its yours, they don't go for much on e-bay ). I can have it glass beeded to start for about $10.00. I did mine myself years ago on my 944S. sanded the surface with 200 ( with a small detail sander and a rotary tool, then 320, then 400, then 600. switched to mothers alum poish and different steel wool and scotch bright pads. Came out pretty good. Did it while I sat in front of the TV durring the winter. I did the valve cover too, same way.http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1081511057.jpg
