Vented nose hole size?

I want to make a template on the computer to cut out my front panel.

Does anyone have the dimensions of these?

I've got a spare sitting in my garage. I'll try to remember to measure it tonight and post.

Thanks Buddy....How do you end up with a spare one of those?

Got 924?

I will make the template and post it here as a photo if you can get the specs.

The holes are 6 1/2" x 2 1/2" with a 1/2" spacing between each one. I can email you pics if you want.

Thanks for the measurements!!

I am not sure how I will cut/finish the thing...going to "draw" them on with a china marker first to see if I like them.......

Don, that car is probably the finest example of a modded early I have ever seen.

Can't remember the guys site (from the netherlands)

That's mmmbeer's car. I don't even know if it should be called a 944 anymore, something like a 948 (944 + 968motor and running gear plus turbo). It sure is nice!

Here are some more dimensions for you as well, that I took from my old vented panel before I got rid of it.

Thanks Tifo - I am still struggling with photoshop on this one... wont be long though.

That 964? is a real 'spared no expense' type of look. Too bad I'm on a budget.

Here is the accurate - i believe - template for the nose vents.

Copy the pic then blow it up to 150x origional. You should have 2 of the nose vents then.

Anyone ever done the vents at half the height...sorta like the 911's?

Update,

Printed out an accurate set and a smaller set, fit 5 holes in the smaller set instead of 4.

I am going to cut the templates out and post a pic tommorow.

Any idea the best way to cut these things out?

Use a small cutoff wheel (pnumatic, if you have an air compressor) or use a tiny cutoff wheel on your dremmel. It's probably going to take a lot of work to get those done right.

Or you can take the front nose panel off, mark and use a drill press to start your holes, followed by using a scroll saw.

If/when i do mine on my 924, i'll probably take the nosepiece off and use a mill. But then again, i have access to a mill...
