Well, now what?!?!? (pics) help me...

Ok, So I try to remount my radiator... well that didnt work as I planned .. here is the thing, maybe you guys can help out. Well, actually I'm hoping you will.

I following the instructiong in Haynes manual and I just cannot see where or how I am suppose to bolt down my radiator so it doesn't move around...

I got the lower radiator replaced fine, but the upper part is where i'm having trouble with. There was nothing that was holding the radiator down when i opened it up, also was missing a radiator fan, and three bolt that holds the fan down on the bottom, and a bolt on the top. I HATE MY PREVIOUS OWNERS!!! aahh.. they did such a hack job on everything... anyways here we go.. you can click on the picture and it'll will take you to larger picture, how ever, bandwidth warning.. huge pictures and might load slow cause my server/connection sucks

according to haynes book, this is where the radiator suppose to mount or bolt on to.. well, the under neat of that bolt looks like this

smooth bottom, attached to nothing

This is what top of my radiator looks like.. no holes, nothing to mount the top part...

driver side

here is pic of lower mount i replaced

here is pic of the supposely upper mount i got from 944online.com

oh and picture of my fan.. i just found out i'm missing a fan.. :P

and here is the hose that got chewed

So.. what should I do? what does it suppose to look like normally, like my radiator and stuff, where does it normally bolt on to or hold on to? what does uppoer mount suppose to look like??? any help would be great.. thanks..

You are missing the 2 brackets that the 2 rubber bumpes that 944online sent you. The 2 "plugs" that are in there now need to come out. When you tighten up the brackets with the rubber bumpers, that put's downward pressure on the radiator against the 2 bottom bumpers. Does your car have A/C? If not, your car might have come with just 1 fan. The euro car that I just got parted out only had one fan due to no A/C. Or if your car does have A/C, is there another plug for the missing fan. Let me know. I have a ton of parts and can help you out.

What was holding your rad before? The rad hoses.

These are the brackets Todd was talking about.

Don't tighten them too much or you will crack the rad.

I do have the 2 brackets, plus a extra 3 blade fan, and the plug to plug it in. If anyone wants to upgrade, I have some 6 blade fans also.

Be VERY careful installing a 6-blade fan. I did this to an '84 and ended up with a nice cut in the hose from the radiator to the water pump. To "fix" the problem I put the 6 blade fan in the driver side and put a 3 blade fan in the passsenger side.

What I do and have recommeded to other folks, use the shroud your car came with and take the 3 blade fans out and bolt the 6 blade fans in. Real easy to do. Also, if you can, get the angled plugs from the later cars so when you plug them in, the plugs won't be sticking out as far.
