Have you done any dyno testing on it yet? Looks like it's hooked to an intercooler as well.

Hey Racing... Not to criticize too terribly... but is there any chance you could have done a prettier welding job on that aluminum? I know TIG is hard (tried and failed about 30 times) but seriously, drop that thing on a mill and clean it up.

I hear ya Brando.
What you see is NOT tungsten inert.
Itīs a kind of solder called alutite.
Didnīt work for crap..so...it IS now TIG welded instead.

Yeah.I run a built to fit front mount cooler.

..as well as a hybrid K26/K27 huffer.
Sports a 50mm inlet for the compressor on a 78mm wheel and 160mm housing.
Limit boost to 1,7 bar.

Nope.
Havenīt been on a dyno yet.
Still street tuning via a wideband LSU4 and pyro.
Starting to get there tho.

-> Racing, Glad to hear it. I've never tried Alutite. I've heard of it, but never ever tried it.

That radiator probably alleviates all cooling probs,

ae.
The cooler isnīt off of anything.
Itīs a race element that we cut to fit in front of the rad and made our own tanks for.
In other words made to fit.

Brando.
Yes,the cooler works wonders.
At 1,7 bar weīre reaching outlet temp sneaking up on 160-170 deg celsius with current exhaust.
Into the TB weīre still at 35-36 deg celsius.
(To convert to F itīs +32 divide by 5 and mulitply by 9 if memory serves me)

Iīve used alutite numerous times before to make brackets of all sorts aso.
The thing with it is that it usualy leaves a MUCH more beutiful joint.
Dunno what F,ed up when i made the intake first time out,but F up it did.
After just a few bursts with full boost i started getting hairline cracks at the rear of the plenum.
When we took the TIG to it we almost gave up at one point, cause the alutite made it almost impossible to weld.
Did tho and the end result is all good.
