Blower stuff...
Ahum, good thing i took my blower out and opened it up. The big 'doors' that can close the fresh air intake via the vacuum system have completly rusted away. A couple of months more and the whole thing would just broken off:
Hoping to find some new ones and make that thing last another lifetime. Also, how can i get the motor itself out? It seems as if it is hold down by two straps, but i've tried several things to release them without any luck: And last, is this some sort of temprature sensor for the incoming air?? It seems like it, but are there any ways to check it's function etc (i've looked around the internet but could not find any specs of the pins etc): Thanks for any feedback |

I think that is the fan resister set, it and the fan switch together control fan speed. On the other stuff, beats me, I haven't had to get in there yet.

Yup those are the fan speed resistors....
The motor should pull off the housing..........may need alittle prying I have neverseen such badly rusted out flappers..........

Got the blower out, and again: RUST. I don't know what the PO did with it, but it looks like he drove it into the ocean with the fans on full or something. How can a thing like a blower motor be so corroded.

hmm, think of these resistance's, as a pipe, with a valve. valve full open=max flow, valve half open=less flow, etc, etc. all the resistors do, is to vary the voltage, to produce different fan speeds.

Ah, and they placed them in the air stream to cool them down and keep a steady voltage?

Yes, they generate a goodly amount of heat.
