Thumbs up Just got back from Brumo's Museum...WOW!

Just got back from Brumo's Porsche and MB to look at a C230. Anyway, they had the car in the back gravel lot, behind the racing garage and museum. My friend and I asked what it takes to see the museum and the salesman let us in. INCREDIBLE! We were the only ones inside... My jaw dropped between the Speedsters, Gullwing, Aston Martins, Delorean, and even a humble 924....what a treat! Suprisingly there were NO 944's, I half expected to at least see a 944 Turbo S, but no. Brumo's probably rotates what's in the museum from time to time anyway. The racing suit worn by Steve in LeMans was pretty cool to see also. Lastly, we poked around the garage at Brumo's latest "projects" and sighted the latest fabcar just in from it's last race. The nose, rear, and seats were out while they were pulling the engine. Two minutes into the impromptu tour, I forgot about the C230!

ever been to the Porsche museum in Stuttgart? now THAT's impressive.

Merc Gullwing, eh? The other day, on the road in Avon, I saw an honest-to-god Mercedes-Benz 300SL roadster. I know these aren't as rare or valuable as the gullwing, but they have to be worth something.

Why a DeLorean, I wonder? I mean, I love those pieces of junk, but why is there one in the Brumos Museum?

The DeLorean wasn't the weirdest though, they also have 3 Lexus. One is 1 of 4 prototypes that was used at car shows before they were released to the public. The salesman must have seen my look of: "What the heck????" and reminded me that Brumos also owns the local Lexus dealer here in Jax. Must be hard owning Porsche, MB, and Lexus And yeah, they did have a Porsche Tractor....right across from the gullwing.....what a car......still, kindof bugged me that there was no 944.

Ah the 300SL Roadster. . . about 3 years ago I was temping at a parts warehouse in Boulder, CO. It was cool I got to drive a forklift like a racecar all day AND the owner of the company had two Cobra replicas, an old MB roadster, a really nice Corvette, a nice BMW or two, and a cherry red 300SL that he had picked up right before I left. Did I mention all these were on-site at the warehouse? Anyway when my temp assignment was over the owner liked me so much he threw me a going away party complete with a nice dinner(for a temp!), the icing on the cake was he gave me a really great ride up and down the diagonal in the 300SL!!! I have never been in a $250,000 (I saw the auction sticker!) auto, nor a car that when we stopped ANYWHERE people would just flock to it. Very very cool memories. Thats what I got for talking Porsches to the guy!
