Angry Shop owner/technician/specialist opinion needed

Me this morning:

On my way to work this morning, the catalytic converter separated from the downpipe/extractors. Unfortunately I had to do a highway repair, turn around, drive the mofo home and put two new bolts on there. The only (remaining) bolt holding the thing on was all rusted and worn. No lock-washers, no nyliner or brass nuts (VW-kind that have locking tips). My only assumption is that in the shop's efforts in repairing my driveshaft, instead of disconnecting the exhaust from the headers they took it apart in 2 pieces (at the cat and at the header flange). I've already called the shop that replaced my drive shaft and they want me to bring it in around noon to "take a look at it".

I need some professional opinion here. Should i take the car there? Should i get the replacement gasket/piece myself and replace it? What do you do in an instance where something like this goes wrong, how do i know if it's something they did, or something that was just waiting to break?

Thank you in advance for the assistance, i dont want to be a prick and not have to be, if it's not their fault.

Porsche service manuals expressly state to replace worn/rusted/damaged nuts, bolts and washers in servicing. The bolts that were on there were worn and rusted. Should have be replaced and torqued properly.

Unless i'm wrong.

Arrite, verdict is: They're replacing the missing donut washer in the exhaust, and will have it done before 5.

Got new bolts and a new donut wash-thingie-ma-jigger in there.

I guess when you ask the magic question: "Do i need to get an attourney on this?" - Things get done. Especially when the mechanic is being an a§hole.
