AC Recharge. Should I try this?
My 84 has begun to blow only cool AC, but not cold. The system is original R12 and has been serviced only once since new, in 1998 (replaced low side hose). Apparently there's now a very slow leak and I'd like to add some R12 to make it cold.

Where the heck are you finding r12? Also, how do you plan on replacing the oil that you've no doubt lost along with the freon?

I've had a can of R-12 in my garage for years. I assume it's OK. Since I can't detect any leaks and the charge has essentially held since '98, I'm assuming that the leak is so small that no significant loss of oil has occurred. Could be wrong, tho.
Just trying to verify that I've identified the correct valve for recharge. |
