Flashing

Is it just me, or has everyone forgotten the friendly-headlight-flashing-gesture SmileWavy that occurs when we pass by a fellow porsche owner?

Theres no point even expecting that from those who own the newer porsches (the boxster era).....for some strange reason they seem too snobbish (almost as if they lack the porsche passion!)

I always exchange friendly waves with other P car drivers....

Wrecked944 07-06-2004 03:49 PM

Flashing with pop up headlights is logistically difficult. So I also do the "wave". And I often get positive responses from p-car drivers of every ilk - front engine, rear engine, and mid-engine. I've even had my wave returned by a Cayenne driver. :D

bull4u2me 07-06-2004 03:54 PM

SmileWavy to all ye fellow pdrivers.

TCMdocs944 07-06-2004 04:04 PM

I hear many people do the Revvvvv. (if horn doesn't work)

bryanthompson 07-06-2004 05:01 PM

shoot, i gotta drive 60 miles to find another porsche, but i'd gladly flash 'em if they were in my neighborhood!

Yes, its a major conspiracy, the 911 guys and now Boxsters owners all hate 944 owners...  :p :p

UconnTim97 07-06-2004 05:03 PM

When I flash my lights with the headlights off, the foglights flash

TCMdocs944 07-06-2004 06:04 PM

Hey, I gotta check that on mine!

UconnTim97 07-06-2004 06:31 PM

It only works when the lights and foglights are both turned off...don't remember how I figured that one out...hehe

bull4u2me 07-06-2004 07:01 PM

hey, didnt know that.. gotta check that one out immediately!

Brando 07-06-2004 07:27 PM

I have to honk, wave, and yell.

Even then, the people not-in-my-group just think i'm another nissan from the 80's :(

Don 944 LA 07-06-2004 07:57 PM

I saw a red 944 today at the 5/405 interchange and drove up, honked, waved etc... the guy looked at me like " oh, there's another one ",, I would have rolled down the winders and say " nice 944 " but it was lookin pretty bad.

I get the daily look of confusion from other P-Cars here, and I am used to it, but getting dissed by another 944 " say it aint so !!! "

:D :D

Saw a nice black 951 on the 91 the other day, I figured it was someone here or rennlist, looked like Eyals.. but I doubt he was that far south.

fast924S 07-06-2004 08:45 PM

Here in CT the 924/944 count has dropped big time this summer, I have only seen ONE 944 the hole summer, It was white, looked like it was in good shape and it was going down rt 146. Its kinda sad I whish I had some other 924/944's to run with. Every nice day I take my 924S to work I95 north to exit 68 and sometimes I go all the way up to 82 and even then I havent seen another 924/944/968. IM ALL ALONE!!??

P.S COOLER YOU NEED TO GET YOUR 944S2 back in action

Yes, I do believe that Boxsters are also from the Boxster ERA... ;) http://www.pelicanparts.com/support/smileys/wat6.gif

Please correct me if this is not the case...why dont you just extend the olive branch to Boxster ERA vehicle owners. Offer to wash and wax their cars, show them that you have true heart and are a bigger man. I am sure the they will flash you from that point forward...:D...:D

Be cool, peace brotha...drive it with pride...http://www.pelicanparts.com/support/smileys/wat6.gif

bull4u2me,

Allright dude since we've been debating (all fun, no offense).
I have a slightly used Colgan bra if you are interested. If so, it yours just PM me with a mailing address. If not, I'll offer it to another deserving 944 brotha, as long as they dont turn around and sell it...dont ask, it happened once before to me here...yes, a 911 owner at that...:( :(

Just let me know...cool

Sincerely,

Bobhttp://www.pelicanparts.com/support/smileys/wat6.gif

i encounter newer porsches daily now, and I hardly ever get a wave back from the new (996 and Boxster) Porsches. i have NEVER gotten a wave back from a Cayenne driver, and I wave every time.

The ones that wave back the most? 911SCs, 3.2 Carreras, and 944s.

TheCooler 07-07-2004 12:00 AM

I know man ...Im moving to west haven and i havent had time to work on it.. the engine is halfway out but im forced to take the car off the stands and pull it out of the garage every day so that gets too annoying to bother with. Freaking house inspections are annoying. Argh.

StoneGrey 07-07-2004 12:15 AM

I would flash if I saw more 944's.

I did see an early 944 the other day... pulled up next it and nodded at the guy.... he nodded back and when the light changed, he raced off. I thought he had a diesel 944.... it also explains the black rear end of the car.... very sad.....

On the way to work, I drive past the Porsche Show room, the Pre-owned Porsche showroom and the garage that services my car, they have parking area with Porsches for sale (944, 928, 911 etc)

I always carry tissues with me to clean up the druel....
