Can a Turbo alternator be rebuilt?
Is it possible to have someone rebuild my alternator, or is it too complicated? Cause I was reading up on how the Bosch alternator system works and all about the warning lamp that has to have current before it can start the alternator and the B and D- and D+ terminals and all that, it seems like its a bit too complicated, please tell me because I'm gonna take it out tomorrow and I need to have my car driveable by Friday.
Also, if anyone has a spare alternator they want to sell for a 1986 944 turbo, please tell me. I believe the older, non-turbo cars do not have the same alternator, nor would they fit correct? I wanted to do the test that the Haynes manual says to do by sticking a screwdriver in the test hole but on mine I can't get to it because of the back cover on it, can I take the alternator out and then have NAPA or Autozone take a look at it and test it to see if it's good? Thanks for the help. ~Mark |
Yes, it can be rebuilt.
Yes, NAPA or Autozone etc... can test it, if they know how. Yes, I have a spare if you cant find one closer to you. :D :D :D :D |
