hello,
during all this heavy rain and then hot weather the past few weeks, i've noticed that the idle speed once in a while is a bit low, maybe 100rpm or so lower than it should be. when i hit the gas pedal there appears to be a little hesitation as well. remember, car is a 1984 944. any suggestions? thanks! obin

With the cooling fans and A/C running, my former '84 would often do the same thing.
Your best bet is to make sure the idle is set properly without any heavy electrical/mechanical loads. The idle adjustment is the slotted by-pass screw. Dirty/loose grounds can cause some rather odd behavior as well. The ground points are in the battery box, at the centerline of the firewall, on the clutch bell housing, at the rear of the engine block, on each frame rail behind the head light, and in the cargo area under the carpet between the driver side tail light and the license plate well. One other thing to try is make sure the A/C air solenoid is clean. The solenoid is mounted the the rear air box bracket. It has two wires from the A/c clutch circuit, and two hoses. One hose comes from the intake J-boot, and the other goes to the intake manifold.
