A/C Problem blows hot air on my feet!

Here's the story, I just bought an 83 944. I knew that the A/C was busted before I bought it. And now it's blowing hot air on my feet!!!!!! Please help me, how do I stop this from happening. If someone has a diagram, even if someone can tell me which wire to cut, I really don't know, but it's been pissing me off so much that I've been driving my mom's ford escort

why dont you adjust the temperature knob (its right next to the hazard light switch).
my temperature knob had broken, so I had to take the knob off and twist the switch with a wrench.
There are a couple of switches that control the air flow to the lower cabin ducts (that blow on ur feet) and the windscreen ducts ,you could adjust that.

if all fails, then get urself a portable fan and place it near ur feet! (just kidding!).

ohh.. I have the late 85 model... it comes with a different dash and different switches.
my bad.

i'm sure the heater clip is the problem, but if you adjust your heater controls so that the air is coming out 100% of the middle vents (and the vents are closed), and that the defroster controls are set to 100% of the windshield, you will get hardly any hot air on your feet.

Bottom lever to the left, the levers above it to center of the unit. Close the vents on the dash. No more heat! Another beatiful thing is when you turn on the A/C, the flapper to the heat box also closes.
