Tell me I can get through this...

Now that I've got everthing I need out, I am getting a little nervous. I have saved and labeled (almost) everything. Please tell me it will all go back...please:confused:

idontknow 08-10-2004 11:02 AM

I think he started by patching up a little rust spot. .... and got a little carried away.

:D

Makenzie71 08-10-2004 12:27 PM

I did that once...was going to get to this little rusted screw-mount and had to take a few parts out to get the mig head to it propperly...ended up stripping the entire interior...lol...

So I know from experience...you're fukzored.

Porsche-O-Phile 08-10-2004 12:52 PM

Damn! I hope you labeled everything! Get yourself a nice big jar of anti-sieze when you re-assemble!

sasquatch 08-10-2004 01:03 PM

Dude, your screwed.

Taz's Master 08-10-2004 02:07 PM

It will all go back.

mattdavis11 08-10-2004 02:41 PM

Have faith man! Where are you going to put the drill? It matches too well not leave it in there, somewhere. :)

TCMdocs944 08-10-2004 03:13 PM

I just got shivers.......

Makenzie71 08-10-2004 03:32 PM

One thing I would like to suggest while you have the interior torn apart and removed:

On the doors...take a jig saw and cot 6.25" round holes, centered over where the front speaker gaps are. Then, in the rear, find a 6X9 speaker pattern and cut that out, centered over the rear speakers.

Have a good one.

GHEN 08-10-2004 06:35 PM

This is a "simple" dashboard removal. I was trying to get the lower vinyl off to do an interior color change, little did I realize before my forum homeys came to the rescue that it is ALL related.

For those of you with kind words (and helpful hints Makenzie71) I say thankya :D

For those who doubt, I'll be the one with the smug grin at 944fest '05SmileWavy

Peace,

Me2. wife seems to think that it's a bad thing. But it's in and staying, so what's the harm, eh?

docsafi 02-22-2005 12:06 PM

finally somebody as crazy as me! That will be sweet when put back together.

bryanthompson 02-22-2005 12:20 PM

I dunno guys, something sexy about a naked 944 ;)

It'll all go back. Installation is the reverse of removal, right? :D

Moneyguy1 02-22-2005 12:30 PM

Too late now, but digital pictures at specific points would help...

bryanthompson 02-22-2005 12:37 PM

Hey, I have that same drill!

Wrecked944 02-22-2005 12:52 PM

No worries. Looks worse than it really is. I tore apart the interior of my 911SC to change the color and (oops) forgot to label or photograph ANYTHING. Sure, it looked scary for a while but was surprisingly intuitive to re-install. I stripped it pretty bare and it came out looking like this...

BTW - A nice shiny set of new hardware can make it all more pleasurable - screws, nuts, plugs etc. Are you in New England? I'd be glad to come by and help if needed.

GHEN 02-22-2005 01:29 PM

I WISH I was in New England (From Boston originally). I am now in the wilds of Ohio, but I appreciate the offer.

Now that the dash color has been successfully changed

I can go forward. Watch this space for updates!
