Pic of your hatch right now...
I started hauling all the crap from my car in earlier and had to take a pic.
This is the first time my hatch has been clean since I got the car...or not "clean," but this is the cleanest it's been. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1092180355.jpg (you'll have to excuse the cheap speakers, my stereo has a 20lb/$200 limit...plus they sound good) |
I cant place my woofer in the trunk, coz I cant cover it with the luggage rack sheet, so I placed it right behind the drivers seat.
Cool system, where is that luggage cover sheet thingy? And.. what color is that car anyway? Aubergine? |
|
not sure of the color name...whatever Porsche's version of burgundy is. I can't find the spec panel (what's usually on the driver's door sill that lists all that stuff)....
If you have a sub box that won't fit under the privacy cover, then get a saw. you can usually cut it, if you know how to cut a straight line, to where volume isn't compramised and it has a lower profile. From what I've gathered two 10 inchers are about as good as it gets without getting very elaborate. |
nothing like fireworks sitting in the hatch area to BAKE in the sun .... OMG
|
lol...it's spent...littering is illegal...otherwise it;d be in the rear passenger florr-board with the rest of them....

It lists Ext/Int. Color codes, option codes, etc.. Come to find out, I have a factory installed alarm... But no key for it. |
imagine it the same color as yours, but leave out the box. I never know when I might "need" a 120 qt cooler. They fit.... perfectly.
|
Something that I REALLY like about that box is it's angled. If laid on it's back, the top fits under the hatch and it slants just right to be able to get plenty of sound with it crammed at the back.
My 28g chest fits without any problem...lol. |

I see a "Fart can" muffler lurking around in there......I suppose its final destination is on the 944??? |

"Fart can"? I've never heard an Apex'i N1, a quality high dollar all stainless muffler, referred to as a "fart can"... I own and operate a company called Shattered Glass Works. I build exhausts, headers, manifolds, and a number of other performance parts for RX-7's, Supras, and (soon) the 944. That particular N1 is going to a home in Nebraska, along with a matching muffler and full port-back exhaust, to be fitted on a mint 1989 GTU-S RX-7. The 944 will eventually have "Apex'i" written somewhere on the exhaust...if I decide to even use a muffler. |
...and I'll remind you all...any parts you'd like to see introduced or "improved" in the 944 world...please let me know. I'm making a list of projects for the car as soon as I get my current batch of RX-7 components out .

Yep its a high dollar "Fart can"....:D Still makes that annoying sound, kinda like a bumble bee with hemorhoids.......(just guessing on that comparison). No actual experience with aforementioned analy compromised bee. |
Not on the vehicles they're intended for...they sound great on Supras, RX-7's, RB20's, Z?? Cavalier and Sunfire GT's give them a good tone...pretty well any large 4-banger, rotory, or V/I6 sounds good with them.
Now, when some moron puts a muffler designed for high-output/turbo cars on the end of his Civic's stock plumbing...yeah, it's gonna sound like ass. Now, take a propperly designed can similar to the N1 you see above, put it on propperly bent and plumbed 2.25" tubing, with Mugen headers, and you'll get a song. Do it right and that 1.6l I4 sounds like a Busa. Morons give shiney can mufflers a bad name...kinna like rednecks did to Flowmaster... |
Actually...just because of this post...I'm going to do a full 2.5" setup from the header back, using either an N1 or one of the knock-offs I have lying around (my customers pay good money for N1's...lol) and show you guys that a can muffler sounds great and works well on a propper setup.

I just realized your temp plates expire on my birthday :D . and your trunk is spotless compared to mine..the carpet was left folded over from someone takin the spare out..and the foam backing hardened and cracked...and now its permanently folded over...gotta get a new one:(
My exhaust right now consists of a tubular bent lower half of the header (the PO did a really nice job with mandrel bends, and the car sounds different than a full stock header) a straight pipe with a glasspack in the middle (gotta get rid of that restriction for a magnaflow resonator) and a dynomax muffler in the rear with a stock looking 3" tip. Havent been bothered by the cops once because youd have to look twice to see that i have an aftermarket exhaust, my muffler looks OEM and its all dirty, and so is the tip. It is a bit loud under the loud pedal, but it has a sound that no honda can rival. I'll take a pic of it tomorrow.. |
Why can't you just lay it back over and put something heavy on it to hold it? Or scrape the foam off and use a different material?
|
its kinda beat up anyway..and its a dark blue, not black. I really want to restore this car....i gotta start tryin to figure how to take the dash out of the car too..
