951 or euro 944 at an dealer

I goto College at Towson in Baltimore MD, and nearby there is a dealership call "The Toy box" which deals in Luxury and Exotic cars. I know they have a an older Lambo and Ferrari. The only thing I have seen though is an BMW 850 (thought it was an M1 at first). That is until today.

I drove by on my way to head home, as I have a court appt for a speeding ticket tommorow, and naturally im going to take a peak as I drive by. Whats sitting in the parking lot? Anyone wanna guess? Oh ya its in the title. A good old 944. Its white, and Most likley a turbo as it had the Euro front bumper, but then again I wouldn't put it past this place to have imported a Euro 944.

Anyway thats the 2nd spotting in two days. Saw a Nice looking yellow 944 N/A drive by me on the Baltimore beltway (695) on my way back up to school. (speak up if that was you).

Anyway i plan on taking a trip up to this dealership some time and taking a look around, but I'll make the trip sooner rather than later if someone would like info on this car as well as pictures.

Porsche love

2nd 944 sighting in 2 days? I saw 4 or 5 944s on the road today alone!

If that car is a Euro...be carful.. YOull have emisions problems and they are harder to sell. (ask my how I know...I just sold a 928 Euro)

Make sure you want to hand onto it for a while. The general market will shy away from them because they are scared.

I love the euros......I think they are VERY cool. Not something you see often in the states.

Was it greymarket at one point? If so, they probably did it so it wasnt obvious it wasnt a euro.

Can you post a few pics? The tell-tale area would be the rear quarter panels.

My pics are up at http://community.webshots.com/album/159948888rYXSZB

What would I be looking for in the rear panels? I dont have the red marker lights like the US ones do...my rear bumper is euro, my tailights have a different configuration compared to the US ones (my brake lights are on the outside, my parking lights are next ones in, and the one big light on the inside of the driverside tailight is my fog light...and only that one)

My mpg gauge reads in liters/100km, and as you can see in my speedo pic, I have a silver ring where the kph numbers are. My climate control is listed in Celsius. All my warnings in the car like brake fluid, parking lights, etc are in some unintelligible german.

Is there anything else I can look for?

btw the first part of my VIN is WP0ZZZ94...

Is that the vin off the dash?

I can't see a good pic of the rear quarters to see if there are marker lights there.

It is possible that it has been wrecked in the front and repaired with a US-spec bumper, or the bumper was placed on it to get it approved for US Shipment(it looks wrecked now??).

It doesn't have euro fenders though, unless they were replaced at some time as well.

yeah those are the numbers off the dash. My car was in some sort of accident, but not bad, but the bodywork was very poor on it. The car is 3 different shades of red, and they only painted portions of the car. The front I would assume is the original paint, because its faded, but I can see the dimple in the driverside front fender where the antenna would be on a early model.

What would the euro fenders look like?

Im collecting parts slowly, so far have a good bumper and Im trying to save up to get a nose panel and a lower valence and clean things up. After that, its on to getting painted. I want to strip it all down and fix the rust thats starting to form on the passengerside, down by the door.

Here is a good shot of a euro fender (even though it is on a 951 it gives you the idea).

See the little square sidemarker light? There is a little recessed area and a hole there in the fender for the light.
