My plate on the 944 is "CMXLIV" - in roman numerals that's 944.

CM=900
XL=40
IV=4

If you had IXIVIV that's kind of the same but it'd be a little weird without spaces since you'd normally expect them on "units" values that are separated. It's the difference between "nine four four" and "nine hundred forty four". I suppose the MOST correct (based on the way people say the name of our cars) is "nine forty four" and the correct roman numerals to express that would be "IX XLIV", with the space as shown. Yes, I'm a bit of a freak about weird stuff like this. . .

For a computer/math geek you can spell 1E5180

1986944 converts to 1E5180 in hexadecimal code...
Use the calculator program on your computer, change the view to scientific, on the left side the Dec button should be on, use the keypad on the right to enter 1986944 and then change DEC (decimal) to Hex and volia .......

Sorry for the geekiness, but it since you were considering the Roman numerals.......

When my car had MN plates, I ended up going to the DMV on just the right day and got a non-vanity license plate GPV 944. I had to wait an hour or two for it (they originally tried to give me 928), but I thought it was worth the wait.

A license plate I thing would be funny: OICU812 or OICUR12 (each digit is a word).

Since I run The 109 Lair...

there really wasn't any argument as to what my plate would be:

BF-109

As an aside, there's a guy in Richmond with a nicely kept Beetle whose plate reads BF-108 ... got a few pics of his ride next to mine.

Well, we thought it was cool, anyway.

vanity plates

In honor for my loving wife, who wholeheartedly supported my 914 project, I got plates: JUST4US2. She thought it was sweet.
Now, 3 years into a restoration, I just joke that it now refers to just for me and my machanic.
