Need Tech Feedback
Greetings: I have finally installed my rebuilt motor and suprisingly she started right up. After some fine tuning (fuel leaks, vacum leaks, etc) I think it is about right...HOWEVER...it still seems to be idling a little rough and I can hear the air flow meter "hissing" as if it is gasping for air...Here are some of the things I checked:
> Fuel Pressure = Right at 37 PSI > Air Flow Meter is brand new > Checked Spark Plug Gaps (Replaced with New Silverstones) > Checked for any added vacum leaks and there appears to be none > Idle speed is right around 950 ....Can't seem to figure what the problem could be...Air/Fuel Ratio off? If so, how do I adjust? This is all for an 88 na...Thanks as always  |
Sounds like you may have missed a vacuum leak.

MIkeB is right....... (how have you been mike! Long time no hear!)
Also take a look at the hoses underneath the intake........ the ones coming from the idle stabilizer valve to the manifold...... the fat hoses. These like to split. |
You can try spraying some brake clean around the intake or where you think the leak is, If there is one it well raise the idle when it sucks in the brake clean. I would just double check everything

^--- and keep a fire extinguisher handy!
