pretty intake manifold

I am taking my intake manifold to be beadblasted. Anyone done this before?

I don't think my ICV rubber mounts are going to last through the process. I have found a couple of websites that I can buy new mounts but I have no idea how they attach back. Any thoughts?

Lastly, I am debating between powdercoating and just painting it with manifold dressing. What have you seen that looks cool but NOT rice?!

Thanks,
Peter

If you are going to, powdercoat it.

Beadblasting, or sandblasting, needs to be painted or something to keep it all clean. They attract dirty finger prints real easy.

You could beadblast it and put clearcoat on top of it, but the problem is with heat and age, the clearcoat turns yellow.

Blue,

Anyway around the yellowing process? Other option? More importantly, do you think they can save those rubber grommets somehow?

By the way, which car do you like better your red or blue?

Thanks,
Peter

There is a clear powdercoat that seems to age well.

I heard only poor quality clears turn yellow, I cleared my calipers after painting them red and its been 5 years and Im sure they get hot and there has been no discoloring just some chipping from road junk. Try to find a good clear, maybe 2-3 coats mixed with a flex agent

Hey GostRidr - how's your "S" shaping up, by the way? Did you get your problems with it sorted out?

no, walking... because you are driving "arrest me" red, so after you get pulled over so many times that you lose your license, then you'll be walking

why not?

well..i havent gotten pulled over yet and my car is loud and red.

You wont see clear turn yellow if you have a solid color behind it, like red or black. If you just clear a clean manifold, the heat in the engine bay will eventually turn it yellow.

powdercoating last longer and is more chip resistant. Go powdercoating.
