Porsche Crest Damnit

You have no idea how mad I am... got in an accident avoiding an accident the other night and slammed into a curb with the front wheel....bent the fender...and the strut looks pretty messed up. Does anyone have any suggestions on what I should do...Should I try to do the work myself.

Asking if you should replace that timing belt is like asking if you should re-use a condom that may have in hole in it with a hooker.

How badly is the strut messed up? A trip to the shop to have the frame checked?

Fender is an easy bolt on if you want to replace it. If you plan to bondo the fender its easy. However you need some experience otherwise you may not be happy with the results.

Well, first of all, stop drinking & driving. (just kidding )

Anyways, I'd go to a body shop and get their professional opinion......for free. That way you'll get a better idea on what you're looking at. Only then you'll be able to evaluate what you can - and cannot - do yourself. From what you described, it certainly sounds doable. Good luck.

Well the strut is pretty bad...from the top of the strut tower you can clearly see that it is bent. The bolts at the top are crooked, but im pretty sure the actual strut tower has not bent. I think im just going to take your advice and have someone look at it...that way I know for sure. I found a nice 83 944 same color as mine that sucked a timing belt and belt some valves. Hopefully I can pick that up and use the parts. Thanks for the input.

Cool

it depends how fast were you going, how tall was the curb, if you hit it at an angle as to how much damage you did?

when i was t-boned in my "s" in feb, the left wheel/fender/door were crunched and the wheel is leaning in about 30deg, the car was totalled and i ended up with a beautiful 951 + the "s".

things happen for a reason.

you might want to get '83 and do an engine swap, do the motor and you'll have a spare and a parts car?

good luck
