No car for 3 weeks!!!

I am totally bummed! My hubby took my 944 into get new tires put on and the shop messed up one of my Chrome rims. Now they have the car and said it will be at least 3 weeks for them to get the rim redone. Three weeks of prime summer driving gone. By the time I get her back It will almost be time to put her in storage for the winter. I think the withdrawl symptoms have already started.

Three weeks is a long time to get new wheels. Where is the car?

You can try Eurotire in Fairfield on Rt. 46: they probably have wheels that you need in stock!

PORSCHE girls rule!

Three weeks to fix a rim???
Sound fishy to me, tell them the car is your only transportation and ask them to provide a rental car!
It's their screwup!

Z-man, I haven't been in New Jersew for long so I am not sure where Fairfield is. I will see how far it is from here and try to go there in the future.

Scottmandue, it sounded strange to me also. Aparently they have to send the rim out somewhere to get it re-done and that is how long the place takes. They said they could send it out somewhere else that is faster but he uses this place because he thinks they do a better job.

Seb928s, I feel your pain Man

Overkill, I wish I knew other Females with a 944. When I talk about my car to my girlfriends I get that bored look from them. Luckely I work with all guys and they obsess over their cars right along with me.

Justin, Cool man.

Always nice to see another zoomie on the board.

How's life at McGuire? You at the wing or Transcom?

Jodi:
Fairfield is in North Jersey, about 45 minutes due west from NYC via Rt. 46, about 10 minutes west of Paterson.

If you haven't yet, may I suggest joining the NNJR Porsche Club of America? (PCA). Check their website: http:///vista.pca.org//nnj. There are several ladies in the club that are hardcore about their cars. For example: Marge and Mark are a couple that have a 951 that's track prepped, and they just bought a 911 Cup car to play with!
You won't be disappointed with NNJR.

AFJuvat, McGuire is OK. There are a whole bunch of changes in the near future with the new C-17 squadron coming in. They start to bed down next year; it should be fun watching the adjustment. I work for CE Horizontal Construction. My husband is in MXS as an Aircraft Metals Tech.

I feel ya too, my car is in getting a new clutch...haven't driven it for a week. And the mechanic just called me this morning to tell me he broke a crank position sensor and it will cost $221 to replace.

I haven't driven a porsche since August when my 924 got smashed. Looking forward to getting the 944 together and driving in the next month.
