Work in progress, repainted bursch header
Hey guys, I havent gotten my engine out yet, I havent had the time but this saturday it should be out and apart. Anyway I had a litttle free time so I cleaned and repainted my Bursch header with 2,000 degree paint, I will also be doing the header wrap, this should help drop temps in the engine bay along with some other things I will be doing to knock down engine temps, Anyway here is a pic of the cleaned up header

Sweet. Now do you still have a stock Cat on that?
|
It came with the cat sub pipe (not in pic) I have been able to get by so far but I also purchased a High flow universal cat that I am gonna fit into the cat sub pipe so mybe I will have a chance with emissions. My plane is go to emissions and try to pass as is but if I fail I will get the emission specs for my car, Then im gonna go to work hook up the emissions analyzer and tune her to meet the specs and retest and I hope I will pass

Do they do a visual to see if you have a cat installed up in CT? My friends 87 924S passed WA emissions without a cat. Keep up the good work on your 924S.

hey do u know ur car will smoke like hell painting the headers...when i bought my bursch headers they came painted ...they smoked for 30 mins after install...they told me no matter what paint they use they still end up somking for awhile...and no u cant drive it until it stops smoking...a tad bit toxic

Verruckt- yes they do do a visual to see if the cats there, some stupid kid with a mirror checks.
Chitown- Yea I know it will smoke, I will let it bunr what it need to burn off but there will also be haeder wrap on the header |
the bbq paint at a local parts store works 10 times better when painting headers..... I painted it with the 2000 paintand it literally burned off while setting idleing in my drive way...... I then repainted with the bbq pit paint......and it lasted for months....
