Need help fast
So I'm getting my clutch replaced and the mechanic broke one of the crank positioning sensors and called the local P dealership and they want 221 for a new one.
The mechanic needs to get my car out of his shop today. Is there anyplace I can go for this for cheaper? NEED HELP FAST!!! |
If the mechanic broke part of your car, shouldn't the replacement be at his expense?
Get a BMW 5 (E28) series one as it's the same..by the way ALL independent shops can and do buy from a variety of other suppliers..
Porsche part number 944 606 115 00 Bosch part number 0 261 210 003 List from our supplier is $147.51 today The shop should have also told you there is an update for the sensor holder to avoid potential starting problems where the sensors receive electrical noise and cause "ignition timing" faults where it feels like the ignition is too far advanced. |
I take it that the car isn't driveable without this sensor?
yep..no signal, no drive
you didnt break it. you shouldnt pay for it..... I twas his fault. let him pay for it if he is in such of a big hurry.
too late now. i got the part for $85 brand new
From where?
A place in Chicago called "Northside Imports" They specialize in all German car parts and import all of there parts direct from Germany so its the cheapest. And my dad is best friends with some guys that own a used car lot so they got me a wholesale discount.
