Are the DME boxes for all years 2.5l 8V NA engines interchangable?

For example, could a 1988 924S DME be used in a 1983 944?

not sure about the 924's but the 944 late box will not fit the early car unless you change the afm also. i see your bidding on my ebay dme, dont bid much highe,r i can sell you one out of ebay for $100 shipped.
