Wink I lowered my car more!! and some x-country stuff

Well, I never got around to taking pictures hopefully tomorrow. But I am moving out of my dorm and the amount of stuff I crammed into the back made a lowered 944 look like a 4x4. probibly not healthy. I just thought that this board would get a kick out of the fact that I am going to drive across the country again.... and I am planning to do it twice. As of tomorrow I am leaving Rochester, driving to Massachusetts, then off strait across the US to San Diego. Approximatly 3300 miles total. This is so I can work and Auto-x in Cali and then drive back to NY in the fall. I love my 944. Hopefully Ill post pics before I leave. The other 944 is now black with the fiberwerks front spoiler and 17" turbo Twists. Wish me luck!

-Greg

Once you're out here for a little while, you won't want to go back, especially for NY winters.

I think it looks just a hair too low in the back.

Yeah, well i'm sure the 600 lbs of junk stuffed in the back is a little excessive.

holy crap! that's a heck of a lot of weight, and quite a road trip!

If you come through Nebraska on 80, and you probably will, feel free to look me up. I'm 5 miles off the interstate.

Well I arrived and finally got on the computer. It took me 3 days to get from MA to CA. the total trip from Rochester was 3796 miles. My average gas milage was 28mpg which is the best ever for me. I spent $327 in gas alone which was less than i had estimated. The car ran superb and the only problem is that somewhere in Kansas I got a puncture in my left rear that I did not notice and it destroyed the left rear and took the right rear with it. It was a slow leak so it was still at 15 lbs in the morning when I noticed it. I got two used Falken Ziex 512's installed for $100. They had plenty of tread and worked great. The car is now on jackstands getting pampered and everything is getting checked and adjusted and cleaned. Belts and rollers will be changed, bushings in the suspension will be replaced, and the paint is getting a buff and polish and wax job. I am now at 185500 miles and counting. The next 100K should be fun. My advise is that as long as you keep up with the matinence dont hesitate to drive long distances because these cars rule at cruising.
