Porsche Crest Just a question...?

I am replacing my control arm this weekend most likely and I was just wondering....when I remove it will the strut be able to move....like have free play. Right now the strut is at an incorrect angle because the control arm is bent. Im just hoping that the strut will go back to the right angle once the control arm is bolted in. Any ideas?

Theoretically your thinking is correct, the upper strut mount allows the strut to pivot.

How did you bend the control arm?

Most times when an impact is that great it bends the strut housing and the spindle. You can see the buckle in the strut right at the top of the spindle attachment where it necks down to hold the shock cartidge.

When was the last time you changed your timing and balance belts and/or cam chain and tensioner?

Front or rear? I'm assuming front... Does the 944 have spindles on the wheels up front?
