Head Gasket?

About 2 weeks ago i had my coolant hose which leads from the cylinder head to the radiator blow out on me. I replaced the hose, flushed and refilled the whole system.

Now whenever I run the car I notice this coolant hose becomes very hard, and It seems as though Im getting a nice air bubble in the system.

I do not have any oil in coolant, or coolant in oil, and the motor is still running strong.

Before I go and order a new headgasket, i wanted to make sure that it is indeed the headgasket.

Thanks

Does the 88 924S call for a 13 lb, or 16lb radiator cap ?

You might want to thoroughly bleed the cooling system and do a cooling system pressure test before jumping to conclusions on a head gasket. I think the cooling system test kits go for around $100.

Well, I finally figured out the issue.

And no its not the headgasket!

A combination of factors lead to my problems.

#1 I switched my radiatior cap to a 16lb cap from Autozone, which wasnt allowing the pressure to bleed properly

#2 My thermostat was malfunctioning, and not opening till well above its 83 degree (c) mark

Through all of this mess I had alot of ups and downs... I got the snap ring out ! then i broke the plastic drain plug for the radiator... amongst many other PITA stupid things... like dropping tools, or leaking antifreeze all over the place.

But when the day was through, and the porsche was running properly again.... it felt so good !

All right! That's a whole lot less work than doing a head gasket...
