Car gets bogged down on the tach during acceleration - ideas?

Over the past day or so, when I hit 4000 RPM, all of a sudden it starts to lose power and then pushes me in my seat from 4200-5000 RPM and does the same thing again at 5000-5200 RPM.

Used to accelerate smoothly right through to redline (although I break off around 6k)

It feels like the car's either getting too much fuel or too little, and when it picks up 200 RPM it's like a kick in the rear and the acceleration from 4200 RPM to 5000 RPM is phenominal, then it does the same damn thing

Ideas?

Thanks

I get the same thing, but I'm blaming it on having an old fuel filter on the car until I get time to figure it out.

Found the problem - loose injector clamp - one of those little clamps that hold the injector wiring in place is broken, and the wire plug was half off from vibration I guess. Put it back and wire-tied it to the fuel rail, problem gone.

Before you get yourself covered in gasoline, try popping the hood and see if all your injectors are clicked in place. My Porsche guy tells me that the clamps failing are common.

Hope this works for you too
